Taylor Wimpey helps Exeter Foodbank in their efforts to lift people out of poverty

Taylor Wimpey has helped Exeter Foodbank in its bid to lift families across the city out of poverty for good with a £500 donation.

The generosity of local residents each year allows the charity to offer food packages to hundreds of people. The foodbank has since launched a new appeal in an effort to make a longer-term difference to people’s lives.

The appeal is centred around its financial inclusion work, which tackles some of the root causes of poverty. The foodbank works with families to address the issues that keep them trapped in a cycle of hunger and insecurity....

Hundreds of people will enjoy a little extra holiday cheer this year, as staff from a local food charity prepare to dish out festive fayre funded by generous Exeter Chiefs supporters.

For the third year running, Exeter Food Action (EFA) has teamed up with the Exeter Chiefs Foundation to help those who otherwise might struggle to afford a traditional Christmas lunch.

By Boxing Day, EFA and the Foundation will have fed more than 3,000 people in and around the city since forming their partnership in 2022.

A former top Exeter policeman will spend Christmas Day in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean aboard a 38-foot boat.

Jim Nye (pictured above in red) is the ex Assistant Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall and is part of a 10-person crew rowing from Tenerife to Antigua.

For fish and chip shop owner Mark Dimelow, the historic Exeter Quayside means more than to most people.
