Exeter Provost joins international panel
Prof Janice Kay, Provost of the University of Exeter, has accepted an invitation to join Pearson’s Expert Panel for its new WCQ (World Class Qualifications) group. Prof Kay is the only panel member to come from a UK university.
Pearson's World Class Qualifications programme is bringing together international assessment and education experts to develop qualifications that will support young people globally to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow; qualifications which are a recognised and respected passport to progression in today’s fast changing world, as well being engaging, inspiring and educationally ambitious.
Sir Michael Barber who is Chair of the Panel said: “British education is respected the world over – but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep learning and striving to improve. I’m excited to be in a position to work with the global leaders in curriculum and assessment to take a fresh look at what young people need to know and be able to do in the 21st century, and to consider how we can give them the opportunity to access that sort of education.”
Prof Janice Kay commented: “I was thrilled and honoured to be asked to join this panel of leading international experts. I am very much looking forward to working with them all to develop innovative and exciting new thinking that could change the lives of young people all around the world.”
