Father and daughter team up to create children's books series
Former Hollywood actor Louie Brownsell has teamed up with his daughter to write a series of children’s books about a little girl named Billie-Lou who can talk to animals.
Although appearing in a number of blockbusters – including Saving Private Ryan and Gangs of New York — it was homesickness that finally brought Louie back to North Devon.
The adventures of Billie-Lou were originally hand drawn in a series of note books he bought when in Los Angeles for casting calls from 1999 to 2002. Sometimes he would read the stories over the phone to his daughter while he was away from home.
Since returning to the UK, his daughter, 21-year-old Billie-Lou Brownsell, a beautician, encouraged him to return to the book idea.
There are seven books in total, and two have been illustrated by artist Bram Lee.
A crowdfunding campaign to finance the other five will kick off mid 2015.
