
DreamArts Rep Company Presents: Head’s Up: Frank’s Story at Exeter’s Barnfield Theatre
DreamArts Rep Company, an innovative young theatre company, is bringing their electrifying new production Head’s Up: Frank’s Story to the Barnfield Theatre in Exeter on Saturday 31st May. This exciting performance fuses beatbox, rap, theatre, and film to tell a gripping coming-of-age tale about courage, identity, and the importance of community.
Head’s Up: Frank’s Story follows 17-year-old Frank and his big brother Gabriel, a writer, life on their Island home is quiet—until the day Gabriel vanishes, leaving only a note and a hard drive. His message is clear: Frank must deliver it to a publisher in London. But as Frank sets off on his journey, joined by his best friend Mickey and an unforgettable cast of characters, everything he thought he knew begins to unravel. Frank must overcome his fears, take his place in the world and keep his head up!
Head’s Up: Frank’s Story is a bold coming-of-age adventure performed by a talented cast of young artists from refugee backgrounds. Expect comedy, courage, and a thrilling ride to The Island in this unforgettable new show.
DreamArts is an outreach charity delivering creative and therapeutic projects in London. DreamArts Rep Company is a young theatre company that creates original productions fusing beatbox and rap, theatre and film. Our productions tour to UK theatres with the company performing and delivering workshops engaging with local communities. The company is made up of young actors from refugee backgrounds who collectively devise the stories, characters, music and movement to tell stories that speak to universal themes. The aim of the project is to support young people from refugee backgrounds to feel part of a creative network and welcome in the UK. The project also supports arts organisations to develop their practice and build connections to their local refugee communities.
