Essex Energy Comes To Exeter - Olly Murs wows the crowds at Powderham
Temperatures reached a scorching 27 degrees Celsius as revellers from across the UK came to Exeter to watch Olly Murs perform in front of 20,000 at Powerham Castle over the weekend.
Essex star, Olly, who struggled to perform his set at Robbie Williams' Wembley concert just two days before, managed to treat the crowd to his famous hits 'Dance With Me Tonight' and 'Please Don't Let Me Go', to a welcome response from the audience.
During the show the 'Troublemaker' singer got his fans shaking their stuff to Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love' and got temperatures soaring even higher by changing his top during the show.
As well as belting out some fantastic songs, Murs partook in some match making. Images of saxophone player Marco Bernardis were placed up on the screen, as Olly had kindly pointed out he was still single, despite appearing on ITV show 'Take Me Out' last year!
Marco was not the only band member to receive embarrassment live on stage, however, as Murs also invited another member of his band up to the stage, and left him extremely red faced by getting the crowd to sing him 'Happy Birthday!'
Exeter Resident Samantha Boggis, who attended the event, said: "It was so nice to watch such a star perform while still being surrounded by countryside. We could not have asked for a better weekend!."
Whilst waiting for the Essex cheeky chappy to appear, crowds were kept entertained by Heart DJs Matt Rogers and Caroline Cook.
Support acts Joy Ride, Charlie Brown, Diana Vickers and Lawson also kept the audience singing and dancing while fans waited for the main man to perform.
Those who saw the fantastic show at Powderham over the weekend will be glad to hear that the concert is certainly not a one off.
Ingrid Oram, the Marketing Manager for Powerham Castle, said: "We definitely hope to continue to host more events like these, they are so popular."
