An Evening To Remember: Fine Food And Music At Ramm

Lovers of classical music are in for another treat at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum on Wednesday 15 May when renowned pianist Martin Cousin will play works by Beethoven, Brahms and Rachmaninov.

The concert begins at 7.30pm, booked pre-concert rustic suppers start at 6pm and drinks served from 6.30pm.

The second in the RAMM Development Trust Spring Concert Series sponsored by Business Club member Rathbones Investment Management, the programme includes:

• Beethoven - Sonata in E flat Op.7
• Brahms - Three Intermezzi Op.117
• Rachmaninov - Sonata no.1 in D minor Op.28

Martin Cousin is one of the most exceptional pianists of his generation. A winner of the Gold Medal in the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition in London and the Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition in Italy, Martin has given numerous recitals in the Wigmore Hall and he has appeared as soloist with the London Philharmonic, Hallé, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia and BBC Concert Orchestras. Further afield, his tours have included New Zealand, Italy, the USA, Japan and across Europe.

Concert tickets cost £18. They are available in person or by phone using a credit or debit card on 01392 265858 during museum opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Booked pre-concert suppers at the RAMM Café cost £12.50. They are made by Otterton Mill with locally sourced ingredients. Drinks are available from 6.30pm for a donation of £2.

The concert series is organised by the Royal Albert Memorial Museum Development Trust which raises funds to support RAMM’s future. The third and last concert in the series features the Benyounes Quartet playing works by Schubert, Beethoven and Dvorak on the evening of Wednesday 19 June. Tickets also cost £18 with pre-concert drinks and bookable suppers available.
