South West Blog Social goes down a storm
Last Saturday (7th June) saw a whole host of bloggers descended on Exeter to take part in the South West Blog Social. The event, run by local bloggers Jodie Dewberry (@alajode) and Albertine Brandon (@dippywrites) brought together over 50 bloggers for a day of fun and girly pampering at Oddfellows Bar, New North Road.
The event was not only an opportunity for bloggers to get a makeover with hair, nail and beauty stations, it was also a learning curve. Talks were held throughout the day giving advice from industry experts such as Jessica Debrah, founder of blogger network, Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle and journalist, Maria McCarthy, who gave advice on how to turn your blog into a book deal and get your story published in the newspaper.
The day also helped to raise money for Demelza Children’s Hospice, who offer support to terminally ill children and their families. A charity raffle was held with the prizes for the being donated by the events sponsors, including goodies from Yves Rocher, Yours Truly Organics and £100 voucher gifted by

A representative from Quiz who attended the blog social said; “The event was a huge success, with all the bloggers, speakers and exhibitors having a brilliant day. We were delighted that we could contribute a prize to the raffle to go towards such a good cause.”
With the blog social, which was the first of its kind in Exeter, going so well there was talk of another one being organised sometime in the future, so bloggers should watch this space.
