The British summer festival season is slowly coming to a close, and albeit bearing the torrential downpour, filthy fields and restless evenings concealed in a flimsy sleeping bag doesn't sound so alluring on paper; it doesn't stop the adolescent population of the UK returning every year.
If like us you’re not quite ready to let the summer festival vibes lie, then sit back and let us help you relive the top five reasons why the experience of attending a British music festival is just so incomparable.

1. “Come together, right now…”
You’re through the gates and it’s time to come together as one. It’s evident in everyday life as a stereotypical Brit that conversing with strangers is somewhat frowned upon, whether we’re fearing rejection or self-embarrassment. But when it comes to Festivals: all bets are off. Pulling up a camping chair, cracking open a can of choice lager and drumming up conversation with the nearest crowd of strangers is not only perfectly acceptable, it’s encouraged (and is there any valid reason why it shouldn't be)!

2. The journey of musical discovery
Although location and price are important factors, it’s no secret that festival choice is predominately based on the musical talent at your disposal. But be that as it may, chances are that you’re probably only aware of around 20% of the acts on offer: but this most certainly isn’t a bad thing.
When wandering around the festival arena waiting for your beloved band to make their way on stage, there’s no doubt that you’ll stumble across a new act that you’ll fall in love with. And before long you’ll find that you’ve downloaded their latest album, bought one of their all-encompassing graphic tees and be judging anyone who hasn’t heard of them. Not to mention tonnes of producers use festivals as a platform to release new material, meaning you’ll have heard all the latest tracks well before all of your non festival going friends. All in all festivals: work wonders for expanding your musical horizons.

3. Audacious fashion choices
Faux-flower headbands, double denim or a neon shell suits. Festivals are the only place in the UK where outrageous outfit choices won’t result in disapproving looks and an overwhelming feeling of judgement. Providing you finish your #OutfitOfTheDay with a pair of combat boots, statement wellies or even better Hunters – then you’re good to go!

4. So much to do, so much to see
Besides the music, Festivals are an action packed arena of opportunity. If you invest some time meandering around the stadium you’ll find that there’s just not enough time to get involved in all of the activities at your disposal. Whether it’s zorbing around an assault course, meditating with monks or roaring with laughter at the comedy tent - no matter what festival you’re at, there’s always plenty going on so just remember “it’s not just about the music man..!”.

5. “…those’ll be the best memories”
More than anything, the memories made when going to a music festival are truly unparalleled. Staying up til’ the early hours making long lasting friendships with strangers; reflecting on the day’s events whilst sprawled out on the muddy ground or being trapped in a stuffy tent because the heavens have decided to open – it’s all part of the fun! Although festivals may not be the most glamourous of experiences they’re definitely times to remember!
