The Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary is hosting a festive Christmas Jumper fundraising feast for pre-Christmas revellers.

Diners joining the fun on Friday 19th December will be obliged to wear a jumper festooned with a seasonal motif or decoration, although chef Robin Rea believes some will go the extra mile.

“I’m sure we’ll be seeing some extra special efforts from creative Rusty Pig diners,” he said.

Robin will choose his favourite jumper on the night, and the wearer will enjoy their meal for free.

“There’s also a booby prize for the worst effort, and I imagine that will be harder to judge!”

The event will raise funds for Save the Children with diners being asked to make a donation to the charity, which is holding its national Christmas Jumper Day campaign on December 12th.
