
Devon farm supplies cheese for Virgin Trains’ new onboard menu
Quicke’s cheddar cheese is to be featured on Virgin Train’s new menu.
The menu, developed for Virgin trains exclusively by the award winning chef James Martin will feature Quicke’s cheese for first class customers.
The Quicke family have been farming in Newton st Cyres for nearly 500 years, making traditional clothbound cheddar.
The multi award winning cheddar is created using traditional recipes handed down from generation to generation with milk from their specially bred herd of grass fed cows.

“To have this opportunity to showcase our traditional Devonshire cheddar to passengers travelling throughout the UK is an outstanding achievement.”
The new menu will be served to first class customers travelling on the train’s east coast route.

“We have worked with our suppliers to create a delicious bespoke product for our First Class customers.”
Standard class customers can also look forward to the autumn as part of Virgin train’s ongoing £140 million investment in the franchise, a James Martin menu will also be available to them.
