English wine tasting at River Cottage

Have you ever wondered whether English wines really are all that? Perhaps you want to support the English and organic wine industry, but have no idea where to start?

This summer, River Cottage has teamed up with Enotria wines to offer a series of intimate wine tastings.

You’ll enjoy the ambiance of the 17th century River Cottage farmhouse along with its beautiful kitchen gardens.

Spend the evening sampling six superb wines, some locally produced in Devon and others carefully selected from around the world. The food is locally sourced and organic, alongside wine that has undergone minimal intervention. Who could ask for more?

Wine expert, Patrick Pigny, will explain the nuance in the different wines tasted, which include examples of biodynamic, English and organic wines. There will, of course, be sumptuous River Cottage tasting boards from the farmhouse kitchen, with canapés and combinations specifically selected to accompany each wine.

Wines are also available to purchase by the glass or the bottle after your tasting session.
