Enjoy an Ultimate Crisp Sandwich in Exeter
This summer, Devon-based artisan hand-cooked potato crisps company, Burts Chips, is determined to get Brits enjoying their favourite crunchy snack in sandwich form. The Ultimate Crisp Sandwich campaign is encouraging foodies to get creative and liven up dull lunchtimes by enjoying some delicious crisp sandwiches.
Burts has partnered with TV chef Dean Edwards, who shares South West roots, to create recipes using Burts’ core range or eight bold flavours. The recipes range from a variation of a Sunday roast, the Beef Yorkie, to a spicy Firecracker Lobster Prawn Cocktail, and are all available on Burts’ website for fans to enjoy at home. During the summer, consumers can also vote for their favourite recipe to be in with a chance of winning a box of crisps.
However, local Exeter eatery The Sandwich Shop, located on 23 Paris Street, went one further and started selling one Ultimate Crisp Sandwich recipe in store: the Spicy Chorizo and Chicken Club.
Daniel Downham, Sandwich Shop owner says, “We opted to sell the delicious Spicy Chorizo and Chicken Club sandwich following the sell-out success of our turkey club on the menu. So far it’s been very popular – so much so that we’ve extended sales until the end of July.”
The Sandwich Shop is an independent business in the heart of Exeter’s town centre. Opened in 2014, the shop is dedicated to bringing some life back into the everyday sarnie, using great, locally sourced produce and cooking fillings in-store.
There’s a natural fit between The Sandwich Shop’s values and Burts’, as the company champions a range of local flavour partners, from the South Devon Chilli Farm to the Well Hung Meat Company and Good Game.
Say no to sad lunches this summer – and make sure you Do It Right with The Sandwich Shop’s Ultimate Crisp Sandwich.
