As the summer approaches, there is no better way to enjoy your food than having it cooked with flames, and Manna from Devon Cooking School’s pop-up Fire Feasts in their newly refurbished outdoor cooking space is a perfect way to get you fired up for summer.

Manna from Devon’s approach to their Fire Feasts is a celebration of good food, traditionally prepared and cooked. Masters of cooking with fire, Holly and David Jones, owners of Manna from Devon, have organised six Fire Feasts throughout May to October, each with a different theme inspired by their favourite cuisines from around the world.  Using the best meat, fish and produce from local sources, Holly and David will cook each menu using their Dingley Dell Wood Fired ovens or over open flames to make the best tasting food they possibly can.

Their first night is on 26th May and will see dishes inspired by their foodie trips to the Alpujarras in Spain (£27.50pp), followed by a Tandoori night on June 30th  (£25.00pp), using fragrant flavours and spices from their journey around India in 2013.

On July 21st, Holly and David will be demonstrating all the skills they learned on their recent road trip around the Southern States of America with an all American cook out (£27.50pp). Recreating recipes straight from the pitmasters they met, Holly and David will serve low ‘n’ slow pulled pork, sticky ribs, wings and sides.

Celebrating the delicious meat reared in Devon, Holly and David are holding a steak night on August 18th  (£35.00pp) using the best of local beef cuts seared in flames.

Wood fired ovens and pizzas are almost synonymous, so it’s only right for Manna from Devon to host a pizza night (September 15th, £17.50pp). Cooking in a matter of seconds, and flavoured with the smoke of the fire, the thin, crisp dough is perfectly balanced with the fresh sweet tomatoes and creamy melted cheese.

Finally, on October 13th, Manna from Devon will be gearing up for the annual Dartmouth Food Festival by creating a menu using produce from exhibitors (£30.00pp).

Each of the Fire Feasts will comprise of at least three-courses and coffee. Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks for the evening. Manna from Devon also offers Fire Feasts for birthday parties and other celebration. To discuss a private booking, or to book one of their Fire Feasts, please call 01803 752943. Spaces are limited.

Their newly refurbished outdoor cooking space is an extension of the cooking school, a covered deck for the wood fired ovens, with the space enabling classes to be taught year round.

Established in 2006, Manna from Devon Cooking School is run by Holly and David Jones who teach cooking skills to small groups in the relaxed environment of their Victorian home, positioned in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Kingswear, South Devon.  The stylishly decorated, homely kitchen and the outdoors’ decking overlook simply stunning views across the Dart estuary to Dartmouth.  In addition to the main kitchen, there is a second kitchen that is in the style of a bakery.  As always, Manna from Devon only use locally sourced ingredients, cooking recipes and dishes the owners have discovered during travels around Europe, Asia and America.
