Travel update
Landslips and destroyed railway lines have been the outcome of this weeks weather. We bring you the latest travel information from National Rail to find out if the situation has improved.
This update was written at 5.50pm on Sunday 9th February.
Yeovil Junction - Exeter St Davids
The line has now re-opened and trains can run again between Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids. A signalling problem at Gillingham has closed the line between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction so trains between London Waterloo and Exeter will be diverted via Westbury. First Great Western train services scheduled to operate over this diversionary route have been cancelled. Customers travelling between London Paddington / Reading and Exeter / Plymouth / Penzance should travel on the first available train service to Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads to connect with road transport.
Taunton - Exeter - Plymouth - Penzance
Major disruption to First Great Western and CrossCountry trains. The line is closed, and buses are replacing trains, between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot. First Great Western have buses replacing trains between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot. Trains are running between Newton Abbot / Plymouth and Penzance. CrossCountry have buses replacing trains non-stop between Bristol Parkway and Plymouth (passengers requiring interim stops can travel on the First Great Western buses). The normal train service is running between Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Penzance.
