Devon really does seem to have it all
TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards saw Devon clean up last week with many of Devon’s hotels featured in the top 10 lists.
Devon was included in best destinations, best romantic hotels, best small hotels, best bargain hotels, and the best beach categories to name a few.
James Sharp, Chair of the Exeter and the Heart of Devon Hotels Association is thrilled with the outcome and said: “I am really pleased with this result. Devon is a great place to live and work and after 2013’s summer of sun it’s no surprise that the county did so well. Business is good in Devon, and I am positive that this will continue throughout 2014”.
The awards won were not only a great achievement for the tourism industry in Devon, but are also a huge positive for Devon businesses.
Derek Phillips, Vice President of the Exeter Chamber of Commerce and chair of the Heart of Devon tourism partnership explains: “This is a great accomplishment for Devon, especially as more and more people use TripAdvisor when planning their short breaks and holidays. Businesses in and around Devon have also recently seen the rewards following investments in their facilities and to be rated 2nd to London is a fantastic achievement”.
