With school summer holidays just around the corner, searches for last minute summer holidays are up by over 50% v last week according to lowcostholidays.

With many holidays now cheaper than last summer, late deals are available for holidaymakers looking for guaranteed sunshine at the beach.

Majorca, The Algarve, Lanzarote, Costal Del Sol and Orlando are currently this summer’s top family holiday destinations with Ibiza and Corfu proving most popular for couples and younger groups of friends.

More holiday makers have chosen 4 and 5 star hotels for this summer than ever before with bookings up 33% year on year and there is also an increase in bookings for all-inclusive holidays, up by 25% compared to last year.

Tim Buckman, Managing Director at lowcostholidays said there are still some great value deals to be had for holidays this summer, in particular for Lanzarote and mainland Spain, “Anyone still waiting to book a holiday should do so now as some hotels have started to reduce their prices.  My top tips are Malta and Tenerife which offer a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets.  With the pound also buying more Euros for holiday makers this year with a rate of over 1.40 Euro compared to 1.20 last year, costs in many European resorts are at least 10% to 15% lower too.”

Prices in July for seven nights in Malta start from £262 per person for two adults staying at the 3 star Blue Sea San Anton Hotel & Apartments in Bugibba on a self-catering basis including flights from Exeter on 14th July with Air Malta.  Call 0800 1116271 or lowcostholidays.com

All 7 night holiday prices based on two adults sharing and include return flights and accommodation and subject to availability.
