Combining its closeness to nature, with the comforts of a luxury hotel room, glamping has become an incredibly popular holiday over the years. It’s a more luxurious version of camping whereby you can simply turn up, without having to worry about bringing sleeping bags or a tent, and spend your holiday steps from the great outdoors.

The beauty of glamping is that it can bring you to places that no hotel could ever, but in our opinion, you really couldn’t do any better than Herefordshire. Home to pastoral fields, idyllic rivers and old, charming villages to explore, you’ll be spoilt for choice for things to do.

While the Government guidelines are gradually easing, going on a “normal” holiday this year still feels unlikely, so why not try glamping in Herefordshire this summer?

Where to stay in Herefordshire

White House Glamping is situated in the heart of Herefordshire with the river Wye following its way through the farm making it the perfect country getaway. Each of their 5 glamping pods (tipis) are spaced reasonably far away from each other with their own outdoor eating area to give you the ultimate privacy, as well as being fully accommodated for the most comfortable stay.

Not only a luxury glamping stay (we’re talking about proper beds), but also surrounded by some of the most idyllic views of the Wye Valley countryside, White House Glamping is one of the best ways to discover one of the most rural areas of the West Midlands. What to do

With nature right on your doorstep, there’s no better place to experience the great outdoors. Embark on a mesmerising river adventure passing through some of the most beautiful sceneries in Britain. As the 5th longest river in the UK, the river Wye traverses the border of England and Wales and has become a charming Herefordshire landmark.

Over the years, it has become a popular destination for visitors everywhere - even if you’ve never stepped foot in a canoe. Although, we will give you one piece of advice - have a back up - you never know what the weather will turn up like!

If canoeing isn’t for you, why not explore an area of outstanding natural beauty with a scenic route alongside the river instead. Wye Valley Walk offers some of the most idyllic views in the country - no matter what season you’re in. Whether you want to walk a couple of hours or spend the day trekking through the great woodlands, it’s the perfect activity to escape in nature.

Where to eat

As expected, there are countless places to eat in Herefordshire, all serving local produce that is of the highest quality. Whether you’re looking to sit in a charming pub next to a log fire, or want to dine on the riverside, Herefordshire has it all - even the fussiest eaters would be pleased with the choice of delicious meals.

Try one of the finest burgers in the world at The Beefy Boys or spend the evening in a traditional village pub like The Crown in Woolhope. Wherever you go, there are numerous choices from independent pubs, chains to various cuisines for both fine dining and lunch time snacks.

After a day of exploring, there’s nothing you need more than an evening with great food, great drinks and great company.
