PILGRIM HOTEL - Getaway to Hereford on a short country break

The City of Hereford is situated between the Black Mountains and the Malvern Hills with the River Wye meandering through the city, Hereford has many wonderful walks to enjoy. Whilst the city centre reflects Hereford’s status as an important agricultural centre for the county, it’s also a good shopping area with everything from big high street names to the many smaller and interesting independent shops and boutiques.

LOCATION The Pilgrim Hotel where I recently enjoyed a 2 night break, is located in the quiet village of Much Birch between Hereford and Ross on Wye. A really rural...

SeaDream Yacht Club.. it's like your own personal yacht with friends .. says David Powell

I recently joined SeaDream II for a voyage along the French Riviera calling at beautiful and iconic ports like, Antibes, Cannes and Monte Carlo. As SeaDream point out ‘this is yachting, not cruising’, and I agree, this is so different from big ship cruising. Being on this super yacht with a maximum of just 110 guests and a crew of 95 to look after you, cannot be confused with regular cruising. There’s no queue at the breakfast buffet, no waiting for a table at lunch ... come to think of it ... there’s no queues, crowds or waiting at all! Life on this ship is as active, casual or as...

The completion of seven coastal access schemes along parts of the South West Coast Path, and the addition of 40 extra walks on its website means that now, for the first time, thousands of people with limited mobility and those with young children in pushchairs are able to enjoy stretches of the breathtaking National Trail that were once impassable.

Newly accessible walks include parts of Padstow where a £24,000 project to improve the surface and widen the path in Stile Field, which both Cornwall Council and Padstow Town Council helped to fund, now means that as well as enjoying the...
