Firework displays reinforce a sense of community
Heading out into the community for a firework display is something many of us love to do, according to a survey carried out by Barratt Homes, which is building homes across Exeter.
Questioning 2,000 people from across the region, the five star housebuilder was keen to discover whether we prefer fireworks at home or join community events - particularly as it is creating new communities across the local area.
“It is important to us that we are helping to create new communities, rather than just bricks and mortar, so it’s good to know how people feel about local events,” said sales director Sara Parker
More than half of those questioned said that they like to visit a local firework display with friends and family, compared to only 23.3 per cent who said they preferred to hold an event at home.
Not surprisingly it was parents who were most in favour or an organised display with more than 60 per cent of parents with children under 12 years old favouring this option.
“With many buyers moving into our developments at the moment, it’s great to hear that firework displays are still popular and that many of our residents will be enjoying these in the coming weeks,” added Sara.
“The fact that over half of people questioned said that a local organised display is their ideal, is extremely positive.”
Barratt Homes is currently working on new developments in the Exeter area including Minerva off Tithebarn Lane near Exeter Science Park and Pinn Brook at Pinhoe.
