People who rent private properties in Exeter are being encouraged to take part in a survey. Everyone who takes part will be entered into a draw to win a £50 High Street voucher.

In Exeter, 22% of people live in private rented homes, which is above the national average.

A number of local agencies receive high numbers of complaints about local letting agents and this has led to a survey being compiled to gain an insight into the true extent of the problem.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Lesley Robson, has officially launched a landmark scheme for more than 200 new homes on the outskirts of the city.

The new Minerva development, which will feature a 15-acre country park, will be constructed close to Exeter Science Park, where more than 60 people attended the launch party.

Barratt Homes will create 159 homes with David Wilson Homes delivering 63 homes to meet the rising demand for new homes in Devon. The scheme will support more than 650 jobs.

The results from this year’s Summer Reading Challenge have been revealed, coinciding with the launch of the 2017 Active Life Active Mind programme of Devon library events throughout October.
