New hair salon opens on Paris Street

A new hair salon has opened on Exeter's Paris Street. Established by Ellie Greensmith and Katie Holloway, Elk promises to provide a "relaxed oasis and calming atmosphere; a place where our time-conscious clients can tick more off their list than a hair cut." 

Elk's contemporary approach offers patrons more than just hair and beauty - their aim is to make all ages and both men and women feel equally welcome at Elk. Take a coffee or lunch break and use their Wi-Fi, all while enjoying an Elk hair and beauty treatment.

Ellie started her career by training at the Vidal Sassoon School in London, progressing to work at a top salon in Chelsea and on Wella Professional shows as well as London Fashion Week. Ellie moved to Exeter in 2008 for a new experience with the aim of building a clientele in a more close-knit community. During this time Ellie worked as a director level stylist for one of Exeter's top hair salons.

In establishing Elk Salon (with partner Katie) in 2012, Ellie has finally realised a long-standing ambition to create a relaxed salon that provides clients with bespoke hair and beauty treatments.

With a passion for both creative hair design and West Country life, Katie Holloway is thrilled to be able to now serve her well-established client base in her own Exeter Salon. As well as enjoing all areas of the creative side of hairdressing, Katie also, as a stylist, puts time into developing long relationships with her clients, building trust and watching their styles evolve.

Sought after for her micro bead hair extensions, Katie develops her skills at every opportunity to deliver innovative design in both her ladies and gents cuts and colour.

The salon uses and sells the renowned brands Wella and Bumble and Bumble.
