Circular Economy Event - Showcasing Sustainable Business Practices and Innovations

ExIST (Exeter Initiative for Science & Technology), the STEMM initiative from Exeter Chamber is pleased to announce its upcoming event, "Circular Economy: Creating a Sustainable Future," taking place on Thursday 29th June from 8.30am -11.30 in The Dome at Exeter Science Park. The second in the series of Net Zero focussed events, aims to showcase sustainable business practices and innovations in the circular economy, and bring together businesses and industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to a circular economy.

The circular economy is an economic model that aims to keep materials and resources in use for as long as possible, reducing waste and creating a more sustainable future. The event will feature four keynote speakers, including Debbie Ward, Director of CirkloConsult, James Symes, Founder and CEO of Bike Club, Dr Ryan Nolan, Postdoctoral Fellow University of Exeter and Mark Dodwell, Enterprise and Climate Director at NatWest. The sustainably conscious panel will focus on topics including circular design, closed-loop supply chains, and innovative business models that prioritise sustainability.

Sarah Brooks, ExIST board member and host of the Circular Economy event comments; "We are excited to bring the second in our series of Net Zero events to the Exeter business community. The panel of speakers are truly excellent, and I guarantee attendees will have much to learn and take away from the Circular Economy event. The circular economy represents a major shift in how we approach resource use and waste management, and by working together in the business community we can create a more sustainable future for all.

“I’d like to thank our key sponsors and partners, NatWest, Thompson Jenner LLP, Michelmores, University of Exeter, Exeter Science Park, Bitpod, SETsquared Exeter and One Voice Media for enabling us to deliver topical and essential events of this nature.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other professionals in the Exeter business community, participate in Q&As, and learn about new tools and technologies that are driving the circular economy forward. The event will also showcase real-world examples of circular economy practices in action, providing attendees with insights into how they can implement these practices in their own businesses and organisations.
