Hotel Indigo Exeter proudly announces the appointment of Mahesh Jay as its new General Manager, marking a strategic move to strengthen its leadership team following the hotel’s transition to Focus Hotels management in December 2023. With 26 years of industry experience, Mahesh is set to elevate the hotel’s position in Exeter’s competitive market, driving growth and enhancing guest experiences.

Situated in the heart of Exeter’s city centre, Hotel Indigo Exeter is known for its boutique charm, local connections, and premium offerings, including Becketts Rooftop BarColson’s Restaurant, and The Retreat Spa. Mahesh’s extensive hospitality journey includes prestigious roles such as Head Chef at Novotel, Cardiff, Executive Chef at Taj Coromandel, and Operations Manager at Park Inn by Radisson, Cardiff. He has also led several high-profile properties as General Manager, including Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton in Bristol, and Ibis Styles Manchester Portland Hotel.

In his new role at Hotel Indigo Exeter, Mahesh will focus on refining the hotel’s offerings and strengthening its position as a leading player in Exeter’s vibrant hospitality scene. His leadership will be crucial in achieving the hotel’s ambitious growth goals over the next three years, which include enhancing the guest experience, fostering a culture of excellence, and further developing the in-house team.

Mahesh’s appointment is especially significant as Hotel Indigo Exeter embarks on a new chapter under the management of Focus Hotels. The hotel is also exploring collaborations with local farmers and producers to feature their products in its renowned outlets, Becketts Rooftop Bar and Colson’s Restaurant. Additionally, Mahesh is committed to supporting Focus Hotels’ broader initiatives, including their partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, which aims to raise £10,000 through various fundraising efforts.
