Town traders Get Social Media Support
Traders, businesses and community organisations who want to make the most of social media are invited to come along to the first Teignmouth and Dawlish Social Media Cafe on Thursday 10 October being held at Fresh Ground Cafe, Bank Street, Teignmouth.
The Social Media Cafe is the brainchild of Mandy Pearse, Director of local firm Seashell Communications and Emma Kay, Teignmouth and Dawlish Town Centre Development Manager. It provides a free drop-in event where people can pick up tips and hints on using social media, ask questions, meet other like-minded people over a cup of coffee.
The event will run from 5-8pm on Thursday 10 October and people are welcome to drop in at a time which suits them. There will be several small 10 min tips and hints sessions and otherwise it will be a chance to talk and ask questions on a one to one basis.
Mandy Pearse, Seashell Communications said: “I meet a lot of people who run businesses and community organisations who want to know how to make the most of social media such as Twitter and Facebook and to take a look at what other options there are. This is a chance to meet people who have experience of running sites and learn what works well.”
The Teignmouth and Dawlish Social Media Cafe will be held monthly alternating between Teignmouth and Dawlish.
“We are committed to providing support for our local businesses and this is just one of a number of events we are putting on,” added Emma Kay, Teignmouth and Dawlish Town Centre Manager. “We’re kicking off in Teignmouth but the event is open to anyone from Dawlish as well.”
A facebook page called Teignmouth & Dawlish Social Media Cafe www.facebook.com/TandDSMcafe has been set up so that people can keep up with events, access information and ask questions.
