Crealy raises £10,000 for WESC and announces new charity partnerships
Crealy Adventure Park & Resort has raised £10,000 for the WESC Foundation, a specialist day and residential centre for young people and adults with visual impairment including complex needs in Exeter, Devon.
The year-long fundraising campaign, Wheels 4 WESC, aimed to raise funds towards a new minibus which thanks to the success of the partnership has now been purchased.
Jon Duckham, Fundraising Manager at WESC, said: “WESC Foundation has had a wonderful fundraising year as chosen charity of Crealy and we can’t thank them enough.
"£10,000 is a tremendous total and has put us well on the way towards a new vehicle for our Year Round Provision. In addition, our children and young adults have had a brilliant time enjoying the facilities and fun Crealy has to offer.
"WESC Foundation, as a specialist centre for the visually impaired with many of our learners having additional complex needs – we have just been amazed at how well the Crealy team has facilitated each and every visit.”

Crealy Adventure Park & Resort is delighted to be continuing their extensive work with local charities and to announce new partnerships with CHICKS, Devon Air Ambulance Trust, Torbay Holiday Helpers Network and Children’s Hospice South West for the forthcoming year.
The partnerships will see Crealy help the four chosen charities to raise funds and awareness for their causes throughout the year.
CHICKS is a children’s charity that provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK at its three retreats in Devon, Cornwall and Derbyshire.
For the children they help, a CHICKS break imparts new confidence, nurtures self-esteem, makes happy childhood memories and sparks new enthusiasm for life. CHICKS has helped more than 14,000 children since it began in 1992 and is this year celebrating its 25th Anniversary.
Andrew Dean, Deputy Chief Executive at CHICKS, said: “On behalf of everyone at CHICKS, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Crealy for choosing to support us this year – we are delighted to be partnering with them!
"We receive no government funding so rely entirely on generous donations to keep providing our much-needed respite breaks for disadvantaged children.
"The support of the local community in the South West is always incredible and, with Crealy’s help, we are looking forward to making more memories this year.”
On behalf of Children’s Hospice South West, Josh Allan, Community Fundraiser, said: “We’re thrilled to have partnered up with Crealy Adventure Park and are incredibly grateful for their support.
"Children’s Hospice South West cares for children across the whole county; this partnership will support local families and help us to make the most of short and precious lives.”
The third charity to partner with Crealy Adventure Park & Resort is Torbay Holiday Helpers Network, who give families living with serious illness and bereavement memory making holidays.
Brian Lewis, Fundraising Manager, said: "Crealy have helped THHN families for many years, for which we are very thankful and we are extremely delighted that we have been chosen as one of Crealy's charities in 2017.
"The support from Crealy means a great deal to THHN and will enable us to help more families now and in the future."

“The support of Devon businesses like Crealy Adventure Park & Resort is crucial to the continuing provision of our service, which is there for anyone who should need it, be that a medical emergency or trauma related."
“We are passionate about helping local charities, so I’m thrilled that this year Crealy Adventure Park & Resort will be partnering with four extremely worthy local causes. We are looking forward to working closely with the fundraising teams and helping the charities as much as we possibly can,” said Josh Haywood.
It’s an exciting time at Crealy Adventure Park & Resort as the South West’s Number One Family Attraction continues to expand with two new rides scheduled to open later in 2017.
The Junior Driving School will see drivers aged three and up aiming to pass their test, obeying the signs and traffic lights as they navigate the tricking course in their miniature MINIs. A new pirate ship ride, The Jolly Roger, will offer a dizzy sailing sensation upon the ocean waves from May Half Term.
