Dawdling Dads prepare for FUGBY12
Pints in hand - The Dawdling Dads might not look busy but really they’re hard at work in their Silverton local planning their fundraising for a charity walk.
The group of new dads are taking part in the 12k Hospiscare FUGBY12 men’s walk on Saturday March 21.
Group organiser Richard Osborne said: “It's not the most arduous of challenges it's true, but it's an important charity nevertheless, and local to us here.
"My partner’s uncle recently passed away, and at the end of his life he was in a lot of pain, but luckily there were people there to support him and be with him right to the end. Some people are not so lucky, just when they need it most they have nobody. Hospiscare fills that gap.”
The walk starts and finishes at Exeter City St James Park and mixes the sports of rugby and football and offers a new countryside route for walkers, who on returning to the stadium will receive a free beer and a pasty to enjoy whilst watching the Six Nations England v France match on big screens.
If football’s more your thing, you can keep up to date with all the latest news and results in the Sports Hub. FUGBY12 will raise vital funds to support Hospsicare, the local, independent charity which annually provides free, high quality end of life care for 2,000 patients and their families in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.
Entry for FUGBY12 is just £15, which includes a t-shirt, a pint and a pasty. Details available at www.fugby12.co.uk
