Otter Nurseries has donated special seeds of remembrance to be given to participants in the 2016 Ladies Twilight Walk in aid of Hospiscare.

1,000 packets of forget-me-not seeds will be handed out at the end of the walk, enough for everyone expected to take part.

Otter Nurseries Marketing Manager, Sabine Taylor said: “We are delighted to contribute to this event in this way. Many of those taking part will be walking in memory of a loved one, and the seeds can be planted afterwards as another way of remembering them.

“The forget-me-not is a self-seeding plant that will produce tiny blue flowers year after year.”

The tiny seeds can be planted in any area of the garden though they prefer damp, shady spots, and once established they will flower from May through to October.

Hospiscare Corporate Relationships Manager, Richard Cousins, added: “We are grateful to Sabine and Otter Nurseries for this latest donation. The family-run business has helped Hospiscare over a number of years in many different ways, and we are thrilled that they are able to continue this support in 2016.”

Last year’s Ladies Twilight Walk raised a total of £54,000 for Hospiscare and the charity is hoping to exceed that figure in 2016 with a larger number of walkers taking part. The theme is ‘Glitter & Sparkle’, giving participants the opportunity to have some dressing-up fun, and there will be entertainment along the route.

The walk takes place on July 9 at The Maer in Exmouth. For more information and to register to take part, visit www.twilightwalk.org.uk
