Tickets on sale for Classics Galore!
Tickets have gone on sale for this year’s Classics Galore! concert at the University of Exeter Great Hall on Saturday November 14 and the best seats are selling fast.
The event has been held every two years since 2007 and has raised £50,000 for local cancer charity FORCE.
The show regularly attracts sell-out crowds of more than a thousand and spaces in the gallery have nearly all been snapped up already with only 25 of the £18 seats remaining.
Tickets for the auditorium are priced at £16 and £14 and are available from Exeter Visitor Information and Tickets (EVIT) at Dix’s Field - 01392 665885 or evit@exeter.gov.uk

There will be free shuttle buses for concert-goers running from the university car parks and, for the first time, pre-concert meals will be available.
The shuttles will operate from 5-11pm between campus car parks A and B and the Great Hall. The University’s Terrace Restaurant will open at 5.30pm. There is no need to pre-book the buses or pre-order food.
Retired policeman Dick Passmore and his wife, Posy, came up with the idea of a concert to repay FORCE for the ongoing support they have received after he was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2000.
His battle continues and so does his passion for music and FORCE, which works to support anyone locally affected by cancer.
Malcolm Matthews will again be the concert’s musical director, working with 50 top musicians from Exeter and East Devon who have been specially selected to form the Classics Galore! Symphony Orchestra.
The South West Comms Band from Lympstone will also be on stage along with the Ottery St Mary Choral Society and members of St David’s Players. Popular soprano Penny Daw is back to perform as the concert’s only soloist
The programme’s mix of popular and easily recognisable tunes from showstoppers to traditional classical music will this year feature a Gilbert and Sullivan section and excerpts from My Fair Lady and Verdi’s opera Aida plus a traditional finale including Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia that’s guaranteed to get the audience singing along.
