New name says it all for family law specialists

Exeter-based specialist family law firm, Hartnell Chanot & Partners, has adopted a bold new brand.

After 22 years of providing specialist family law advice under the names of Hartnells, Hartnell and Co and most recently Hartnell Chanot & Partners, the firm has taken on a new identity that better highlights the firm’s specialist area of practice and the overall aspirations of the organisation.

On 1 October the firm became The Family Law Company, by Hartnell Chanot. This change has been introduced as the firm sets its sights on the future and re-focuses on delivering quality care and support to clients facing family challenges.

The Family Law Company provides legal advice and support for clients with issues spanning pre-marriage planning, divorce and separation, children matters, care proceedings, grandparents’ rights, unmarried couples, domestic abuse, adoption and child abduction. The firm has achieved national recognition in recent years, regularly achieving top tier rankings in leading legal services directories and twice being shortlisted for Family Law Firm of the Year at the Family Law Awards.

Commenting on the announcement Norman Hartnell, Managing Director, said: “This is a really exciting time for our firm, for years we have been delivering quality care and support for our clients, but our aspirations have always been so much greater. We want to change the face of family law for the better and to set an example for the family law profession.”

Hartnell went on to say: “The cornerstone for our new identity will be our core ethos - We aim to provide more than just a legal service for our clients. Our core approach remains that we problem-solve rather than litigate wherever possible, we provide protection of the vulnerable, we keep welfare of children at the centre of our thoughts and we attempt to address the underlying sources of conflict. We aim to stand by these principles with the minimum of acrimony and expense.”

Marketing and Business Development Manager, Stuart Wright, added: “Re-branding the firm has been a great opportunity for us to really remind ourselves about what is most important to us – our clients and the service that we provide. The new brand will see an increase in the amount of useful information that we provide, free-of-charge, to anyone with family law issues; this will be available via factsheets, downloads and videos. We have also introduced a subsidised service package to help those who are no longer eligible for Legal Aid.”
