The highly-anticipated Powderham Food Festival is making a comeback on the 7th and 8th of October, and this year it's set to be bigger and better than ever before.

With less than a month to go, the excitement surrounding the festival has reached unprecedented levels, with record-breaking ticket sales in the first 6 weeks of release indicating that food enthusiasts both near and far are eager to indulge in the artisanal delights that will be on offer.

With sweet baked sensations from the Cookie Queen and melt-in-the-mouth fudge from Edwards Fudge Kitchen, to plant-based goodness from Soul Bowl and some of the finest cheese from Godminster, there will be an abundance of sweet and savoury cuisine that is sure to please even the most discerning foodies.

As well as showcasing a number of local producers and creators, this year's festival is all about creating memorable family moments. From chocolate sculpting to a miniature railway and a Shaun the Sheep AR Trail, there's something for every member of the family to enjoy.

Kids can go wild with face painting by Sonia Kemp or show off their climbing abilities at the climbing wall, while parents and little ones will be thrilled to see the return of the famous Bouncing Chefs and live music from Jimmy Ireland and Fintan May.

The two-day festival is jam-packed with entertainment, child-friendly activities, food demonstrations, and special guest appearances from the likes of Charles Courtenay, the Earl of Devon. The line-up makes for an unforgettable and unmissable weekend.

For those who dare to brave the heat, festival-goers can compete for the ultimate title of Chilli Champion, as Powderham Food Festival’s famous chilli eating competition returns for another year. Hosted by Clifton Chilli Club, the challenge sees attendees chomp down on some of the hottest chillies available, in a bid to be crowned the Chilli King or Queen for the year 2023.

The Powderham Food Festival has firmly established itself as a beloved fixture on the culinary calendar, celebrating fine food and drink from all across the region. With a diverse lineup of events and activities designed to captivate visitors of all ages, this year's festival is poised to be a memorable experience for families, foodies, and fun-seekers alike.

Unlike previous years, pundits can secure their tickets to this year’s festival free of charge, with all the proceeds made from sponsorships going towards maintaining Powderham Castle in the years to come.
