St. Leonards Quarter has the Exe-Factor for new resident

Gareth Jones is relishing the prospect of calling a new apartment at St. Leonards Quarter, in Exeter, home.

The retired university professor says the decision to head to Acorn Property Group’s prestigious Exeter development was a “no brainer”.

This summer, he will up sticks and swap South Wales for Devon and a St. Leonards Quarter apartment.

He is excited about beginning a busy new chapter in his life – with the new home close to family but also the ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities and an active social life.

“I’ve been keeping an eye on the property market in Exeter to be closer to my family,” said Gareth, a widower who sadly lost wife Lucy three years ago.

“And so, when the chance to move to the St. Leonards Quarter arose, I quickly  decided to grab it with both hands.

“They’re putting the finishing touches to it now and not only does it looks great, but I knew I was in good hands with Acorn – the team have looked after me well. What’s more, the business has a strong reputation for creating brilliant new homes.

St. Leonards Quarter is a beautiful new collection of one to five-bedroom houses and apartments, in the heart of Exeter.

It is not only close to the vibrant city centre and within walking distance of several local amenities but also just a few minutes from the River Exe.

Gareth, a former member of staff at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, will be moving into a two-bedroom apartment that boasts a high-quality specification and sustainable design.

The apartment will be EPC rated B and feature a high-performance triple glazed window system, low energy lighting and superior insulation which all contribute to lower running costs.

The development also offers access to landscaped open green space and communal EV charging points.

“It really was the most straightforward of decisions to move to St. Leonards Quarter and I’m really looking forward to calling it home,” Gareth said.

“You could call it a ‘no-brainer’ because St Leonard’s is ideally located for me to live near my two children and my lovely grandchildren.

“Plus, it will be the perfect place for me to immerse myself in the community and make the most of all the wonderful things the area has to offer, such as cycling and walking routes.

“There are lots of pubs and restaurants in the area as well so there will be plenty of things to do.

“I’m also a model railway enthusiast so I look forward to joining the Exeter model railway club and that will help me meet new people.”

Gareth is still an active academic and expects to maintain links with the world of higher education when he is not out and about enjoying the great outdoors.

“Exeter’s a renowned university city so I’m also braced for the grandchildren to want to come and visit,” he added.

“That will be nice and I’m sure their company will help keep me young and engaged with the academic world.

“There are plenty of reasons for be excited about moving to Exeter and I’m sure it will live up to expectations.”
