World’s largest EV manufacturer arrives in Devon with BYD South West
A new era of electric mobility has arrived in Devon with the opening of the BYD South West retail dealership.
Build Your Dreams, or BYD, for short, have arrived in the UK, choosing Exeter as their location to represent the brand in the South West of England.
BYD are a brand you might not have heard of previously, but they are in fact the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, selling over 1.8 million units in 2022. A staggering figure that puts them ahead of household names like Tesla.
Having established themselves as market leaders on a global scale, they’re now bringing their exciting line-up of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) to the UK, starting with the BYD ATTO 3.
This stylish and quirky SUV has a claimed range of 261 miles and will be BYD’s debut model in the UK.
Following that will be the release of the DOLPHIN, a small and practical electric hatchback that will be perfect for city drivers.
The initial BYD release will culminate with the release of the SEAL, an executive saloon that will rival the likes of the Tesla Model 3.
With a multitude of financing methods available, from Outright Purchase to Personal Contract Purchase and Hire Purchase, BYD South West are region to support local drivers in finding more efficient and eco-friendly cars.
Test drives are now available to book from the Marsh Barton dealership, which is based at Waterbridge Court.

BYD have an ambition to cool the earth by 1˚C through the electrification of public transport and reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
The 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel combustion engine vehicles is looming, with personal and business customers alike facing the prospect of making the switch soon.
Marsh Barton plays host to some of the famous car brands, including Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo, Audi, MINI and many, many more.
However, in a new wave of electrification, BYD’s arrival in the South West represents a greener and more efficient motoring choice in the region.
