Exeter teenager wins first FIFA 18 Global Series event

A 16 year old from Exeter has won a major global e-sport event, beating the best FIFA players from across the world.
 
After three intense days of competition between the best FIFA players from around the world, 16-year-old Donovan “DhTekKz” Hunt was yesterday crowned winner of the FUT Champions Cup Barcelona on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup.

In his first major FIFA competitive event, the 55th seed DhTekKz defeated Nicolas “nicolas99fc” Villalba 8-2 on aggregate in the Grand Final, after starting the final game with a three goal advantage.

This past weekend saw 128 of the top FIFA players face off in Barcelona, with millions of fans from all corners of the globe tuning in to witness unexpected drama, upsets of crowd favorites, and the rise of new superstars. The top eight competitors on each platform have secured a place in the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs this June.
