The PGA West Region Year 2 Golf Assistant of the Year 2016 is joining the Professional Golf team at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Tuesday 14th March.

Tom Jessamine is moving from Woodbury Park to Exeter Golf and Country to join the increasingly successful professional golf team in Exeter, headed up by Darren Everett.

Darren’s Pro Shop team have been at Exeter for less than a year having moved from Teign Valley last May. As well as expanding his team during that time, Darren has also launched a golf simulator that is the only one of its kind in the entire South West.

Using the very latest golf simulator technology within a unique fully enclosed suite, Darren’s golf studio provides the most intuitive coaching programmes, highly accurate fitting and support, along with the choice of six international golf courses to play, whatever the weather.

Darren decided to expand his team following the growth of his golf coaching, retail outlet and the recent success of this state-of-the-art golf studio.

Darren said, “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Tom to my team of professional staff here at Exeter Golf and Country Club. Tom fits the mould perfectly for the type of golf assistant I employ. He has an engaging personality, a dynamic approach to golf and a big ambition to progress his career. He is also a fantastic player and that will fit well at a club renowned for producing excellent young golfers.”

Tom Jessamine is a young golf coach with a wealth of success behind him, as well as a world of promise ahead. He was captain of the Devon Junior Squad as well as the 1st golf team at the University of Birmingham. He has enjoyed success at numerous national amateur events and turned professional in 2014.

Since then Tom has a further 5 victories under his belt, along with the prestigious title of West Region Year 2 Golf Assistant of the Year.

Tom’s move from Woodbury Park to Exeter Golf and Country Club marks the start of an exciting point in his career as he is joining a team of highly acclaimed golf professionals at a golf club bucking the trend with a golf section going from strength-to-strength.

Tom said, “I am delighted to move to Exeter Golf and Country Club and help Darren and his team of golf assistants, James and Chris, continue to build on their successful first year in Exeter.  I get real job satisfaction from coaching and have a keen interest in the role psychology plays in the game. I am very much looking forward to meeting the members at Exeter Golf and Country Club, as well as their regular visiting golfers and societies.”

Darren continues, “Tom is keen to progress his coaching which sits well with our full diary of events from schools coaching to Get into Golf as well as coaching juniors and adults from beginners to experts and our new member experience days launching very soon.

We believe golf should never stand still and we are always looking for ways to develop our offering, get more people into the sport and of course, provide the very best experience on every occasion. An example of this is our new website which shows fantastic drone video of the entire course with a hole-by-hole flyover, guidance and top tips. Tom shares our ethos and sees a bright future for golf as a sport.  I am confident Tom will enhance the team and help us deliver the first-class service we ensure our members receive.”
