Lots more Exeter Foodbank users will enjoy a traditional chocolate treat this year, thanks to The Fresh Accountancy Company.

The business tax specialist has donated 100 tasty Easter eggs to the Foodbank, a mix of different varieties suitable for children and adults.

Accountant Ben Finch said: “While we’re aware that there’s always a need for basic items including pasta, squash, tins of fruit and meat and cleaning products, we decided there was room for a little indulgence, too.

“Everyone should have the chance to enjoy a tasty chocolate egg over the Easter weekend, and we hope that lots of children and adults from the Exeter area who use Foodbank vouchers will benefit.”

Working with agencies such as Citizens Advice, Exeter City Council, children’s centres and health visitors, the Exeter Foodbank, part of the Trussell network, gave food to just over 10,000 people in 2023/24 as well as providing helpful advice on available services and support.

Operations Manager Teresa Pollard said: “The truth is foodbanks shouldn’t be needed, but while they are, it's important to make sure that the people we serve are treated with dignity and supported beyond the provision of food.

“The Exeter community is so supportive of our Foodbank and we are always amazed by the generosity of donations from individuals, schools and colleges, stores, and the local business community, including Fresh.”

Over the coming months, as part of intentions to increase its CSR activity, The Fresh Accountancy Company will be supporting further local charities through a number of different events.
