500 Trick or Treaters enjoy hot choccie at city home

More than 500 trick or treaters enjoyed hot chocolate and homemade cakes at a city home last night.

Mark and Gemma McHutchon, who belong to the nearby Isca Church, hosted the evening on the drive of their King Arthurs Road home in Beacon Heath.

It was the fifth year they have done this. Members of the Isca Church community prepared large pans of hot chocolate and baked lots of cakes and biscuits.

Richard Cummings, Isca Church community worker, said: “It was a great night. We met so many lovely people and everyone enjoyed the fun atmosphere. Parents were especially grateful for a hot cuppa on what can be a long night.

“We as a church love being part of our local community, lots of us live round here and we all think church is about showing God’s love to the people around you.”

Isca Church will be building up to its next community activities for Christmas, helping with the local fayre, a knitted sheep special project for Christmas and hosting our annual carol service.
