A30 classic car fire caused delays
Firefighters attended an incident yesterday ( Saturday 19th April) involving a classic car which had caught on fire.
Crews were alerted to the fire after numerous calls from the public and the car's owner.
Two appliances from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised to the incident, which took place in a layby on the A30 in between Alphington Junction and Fingle Glen.
The incident caused delays for many drivers using the A30.
Crews extinguished the fire, which started accidentally, using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
Duty of care was left with the owner and Police, who were carrying out traffic duties.
