The existing exit at the bottom end of Aller Brake Road where it connects onto the A380 is to be closed as part of the South Devon Link Road construction programme.

The closure will take place with effect from 9pm on Sunday 10 May. It will remain closed for a period of approximately 12 weeks and will re-open at the end of July 2015.

The works are a key part of the construction programme which facilitates final access for residents of the Aller estate onto the Aller Park Link Road, whilst also increasing the drainage capacity in the vicinity.

The emergency services have been consulted about the closure and will be amending their access routes accordingly. Access will continue to be provided for pedestrians and cyclists.

Following liaison with both Stagecoach and Dartline, the 66 service will be revised and will continue to service the community. The route for the 174 service will also be revised and will not run through Aller during the road works. More information regarding these revisions to the bus services will be available from the bus companies.

Once complete the new junction will give access to the newly constructed Aller Park Link Road for onward journeys to Torquay where traffic will be able to join the A380 in the area of Hanson’s Quarry ahead of the final connection in the vicinity of Romany Jones.

As with any construction programme, activities of this nature are weather-dependent and subject to unforeseen events - should they occur this may result in a change to the programme.

Updates and further details will be announced on the South Devon Link Road website: www.southdevonlinkroad.co.uk
