Popular television series Antiques Roadshow will be filmed on Exeter Cathedral Green on Thursday September 12.

What can I expect when I visit an Antiques Roadshow?
Admission is usually from 9.30am until 4.30pm, although we continue filming until 7.00pm. As long as you're in the queue by 4.30pm you will see an expert. Mornings are usually busiest.
Will I need to queue, and for how long?
Unfortunately, queues are part and parcel of the Antiques Roadshow thanks to its popularity, but we have a team of stewards and over 30 years' experience to help ensure that your day goes as smoothly as possible. About 2,000 people attend each Antiques Roadshow valuation day. You'll need to queue for reception, where you will be assigned a ticket to the team you need to see (such as 'books and manuscripts' or 'ceramics and glass'). If you've brought a selection of items, such as a necklace, a doll and a vase, you may need to queue to see different experts. If you are with family/friends, you could split up to see the experts separately. Wear comfortable shoes, and don't forget your coat and umbrella.
What if I cannot stand for a long period of time?
We want to ensure that you have the best possible experience, so if you need any assistance or a chair please inform a steward.
How should I pack my items?
We advise that you pack your items with great care, and carry them in something sturdy to avoid breakages!
Should I label items with my personal details?
Be security aware. Do not put anything indicating your name or address, or any other personal details, on show on your items or their packaging. Do not leave your bags unattended.
Will I need to bring refreshments?
Our venues often have places to buy food and drink, but it's wise to bring something along, just in case. Don't forget... to bring a pen and a notebook/paper to take down details of what the expert says - it's easy to forget in the hustle and bustle of the day.
What if I have a large or heavy item to bring along?
You have a couple of options: you could bring a clear photograph of it instead, with close-up images of important details, to show the expert at the valuation day. It's never the same as seeing the item in the flesh, but it's a popular choice when it comes to furniture. Alternatively, if you contact us well in advance (more than a fortnight prior) of the Roadshow visiting your area, we could add you to our furniture round. What's the Furniture Round? In some circumstances we can transport items to valuation days, and return them afterwards. Is there a limit to the number of items I can bring to show the experts?
We suggest that you bring a small selection of items that you're most keen to find out about. Due to the volume of people at each Roadshow, an expert can only spend a certain amount of time with each visitor. If you bring too many items it can hold up the queues and on busy days an expert may ask you to select only three or four items for appraisal.
Do you have an expert for coins, stamps, rugs, carpets and musical instruments?
We do not have specialists in the fields of stamps, coins, rugs, carpets or musical instruments. Our team may be able to suggest alternative sources for more detailed information. If you've brought stamps, please be aware that experts are not able to spend time looking through large collections.
Is there disabled access at Antiques Roadshows?
Access can vary according to location. We try to put arrangements in place that make access for wheelchair users as straightforward as possible. When will the Roadshow I attended be televised?
At the time of filming we won't know when the programme will be broadcast. However, if you've been filmed you will be notified of the transmission date and whether or not you have been included in the final programme.
