Auction guesstimate comes close

Chilcotts Auctioneers summer show competition winner has been announced.

The competition asked visitors to the Chilcotts show stand at the Honiton and North Devon Shows to take a guess at the price an auction lot would achieve at auction.

The lot, an early twentieth century miniature chest on stand, was a tricky one to estimate. However, Paul Benson from Taunton got very close with a guess of £225. The chest was sold at auction in the September sale for £220.

Mr Benson won a Marks and Spencer voucher and a year’s worth of auction catalogues. The competition raised £50 for local charity, Hospiscare.
