Award-winning Developer Acquires Land in Exeter
A 24-acre development site off Harrington Lane in Pinhoe, Exeter, has been purchased by housebuilder Redrow. The new site, The Harrington’s, comes with detailed planning permission for 230 properties consisting of 172 private homes, plus 58 affordable houses and a care home. Infrastructure works will commence imminently, with show homes and the first properties being available in early spring 2013.
The Harrington’s, formerly the Brick Works, is situated just outside Pinhoe, Exeter, on the edge of the Devonshire countryside. The underutilized brownfield site will be brought back to life by Redrow, making a vital contribution to Exeter’s housing demand.
Redrow is planning to build 230 desirable new homes in total, a mix of private and affordable dwellings, with a wide selection of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms. The mix of New Heritage Collection homes planned for this development is sure to attract couples and families from across the region. The development will provide another example of quality and workmanship synonymous with Redrow.
Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow (South West), said: “We are delighted to have secured this key strategic site and welcome the return to the Exeter market place. It is a beautiful part of the country and our priority is to deliver a high quality development. This will build on our successful developments ‘The Fairways’ in neighboring Newton Abbot and ‘Bagley Green’ in Wellington, which have proved very popular with local residents.”
Redrow will also be making substantial contributions to the local area in the form of a £810,000 education contribution and £800,000 contribution to highway and sustainable transport improvements.
