Bear Grylls announces more acts, as Gone Wild Devon moves towards sell-out success

TV adventurer Bear Grylls has bolstered his impressive line-up of bands, acts, speakers, entertainment and activities for Gone Wild Devon, leading to a rush in bookings, leaving just 25% of tickets available to buy.
Promising an unforgettable escape, where families can spend time together in the great outdoors, Gone Wild Devon focuses on camping, getting back to nature, wild adventures and amazing challenges, including the legendary Gone Wild commando course.
Taking place at Powderham Castle, near Exeter, Devon from 22-25 August, the UK’s ultimate family adventure festival will see Dick&Dom open on Thursday evening with their epic DJ Set. Eurovision legend Sam Ryder will headline on Friday night supported by Jake Shears. James will take centre stage on Saturday evening supported by The Feeling. Ocean Colour Scene will close the festival in style on Sunday, supported by Ash.
New for this year will be extended activity hours, a host of fresh and exciting experiences, and kids’ meals from as little as £5. Over 100 incredible, free experiences are included within the action-packed four-day weekend festival passes. These range from archery, and survival skills, to axe throwing, spear making, tree climbing, raft building, foraging walks, survival skills, wild swimming, and SUP experiences.
This year’s line-up of inspirational speakers includes: Bear Grylls; British explorer, adventurer and writer Sir Ranulph Fiennes; former Welsh rugby star Alix Popham; disabled Polar Explorer Jonny Huntington; triathlon world champion Helen Jenkins MBE; solo Atlantic rower Mike Bates; TV personality Harrison Ward, better known as The Fell Foodie; author of The Outdoor Fix, and Podcaster, Liv Bolton, and author of Chinook Crew Chick, Liz McConaghy.
Headline daytime entertainment will feature high-energy workouts with Mr Motivator, side-splitting gory stories with Horrible Histories, and ‘live dinosaur’ experiences provided by Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Dinomania.
Commenting on the festival Bear Grylls, who has recently launched his new book Mind Fuel for Young Explorers, said: “Our goal is to get families spending time together in the great outdoors, sparking their imagination, building confidence, encouraging inquisitive minds and confidence in kids. Where else can you learn how to light fires, go climbing, throw your mum down a 50-foot mudslide, then party the night away watching an amazing line-up of live music?”

Four-day family tickets can be booked from £495, saving up to £75 on individually purchased tickets. The family ticket gives full festival access alongside a tent pitch for two adults and two under-18s. Monthly payment options are available to help stagger the cost. Evening concert tickets are available from £42.50 per head.
A new range of Bell Tents, Tipis, Luxury Yurts, and pre-pitched tents will be available so that visitors can travel light and still enjoy the camping experience. Pitches will also be available for motorhomes and caravans, alongside new park and pitch options.
