Boy who jumped off Torpoint ferry still missing
Update: Jordan Cobb is still missing after jumping from Torpoint ferry. The Coastguard stood down last night but MoD Police carried out patrols throughout the night.
A police search advisor is at the scene and all agencies including police, Coastguard and MoD Police, were due to meet this morning to co-ordinate today’s search activities. Police officers will be conducting a search of the shoreline today and the missing person investigation continues.
Earlier: 16-year-old Jordan Cobb, from Plymouth, was captured on Torpoint ferry's CCTV jumping into the River Tamar at 21:15 GMT on New Year's Eve.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Jordan was believed to be with a group of friends when he jumped.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) said that despite an extensive air, land and sea search Jordan had not been found. Nigel Bunker, an MCA station officer, said there had been no sightings of Jordan since he was captured on the ferry's CCTV going into the water.
Chief Inspector Ian Drummond Smith said "We are treating Jordan as a High Risk missing person. The river was extensively searched by air and sea for several hours, but there remains a possibility that he managed to swim ashore, and I would ask anyone with information to call the police on 101."
