Bus stop arrangements during closure of Exeter High Street to motor vehicles

From the 24th February 2025, Exeter High Street will be closed for a period of approximately three weeks, to enable essential maintenance works to be undertaken. The closure means that it will not be possible for buses to access the High Street from the junction with Queen Street to the junction with Paris Street.

Stagecoach and Devon County Council have confirmed provisions for Exeter City Centre bus services, including those provided by other operators, for the duration of this closure, with full details of diversions to buses and alternative stopping arrangements while bus stops in the affected areas are not in use.

The bus stops out of action during the road closure are: High Street Bus stops 1-6, Sidwell Street Bus Stops 18 and 20 and Queen Street Bus Stops 7 and 8. Customers will be able to use stops on Fore Street and Sidwell Street or temporary Bus Stops, which will be in place on Bampfylde Street.

Stops 15, 26 and 27 will additionally not be served by services H and K. Customers wishing to connect with Central Station Railway by bus will need to exit their bus at Bus Stop 28 on New North Road and use this entrance to the Station.
