Calling Star Bakers! Love themed bake sales set to make a difference to local people
FearFree, an Exeter based charity is asking people to host a love themed bake sale to raise vital funds to help local people impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking.
The Love Yourself Bake Sale is the charity’s first ever bake sale fundraiser and takes place on or around Valentine’s Day.
It encourages people to join with friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate love in all its forms and raise money to help people rebuild their lives after abuse.
Jess Gay, FearFree’s Head of Fundraising said: “Each year we help thousands of people to escape the misery of abuse and live a new life, free from fear.
"Hosting a bake sale is an easy way to support us to do this and will make a real difference in your local communities – just £10 could buy a comfort toy for a child to help them during a 1-1 support session and £100 can provide an emergency hotel room for a parent and child fleeing abuse.”
Ariana Watling, FearFree’s Young Person’s Ambassador said: “FearFree is an amazing charity that helped me get back onto a positive path in life, after breaking free from an abusive relationship.
"Domestic abuse is an important topic that needs to be spoken about more in society, to help break down social stigma. It affects so many people, whether that is directly or friends and family suffering. So, let’s get baking, enjoy some delicious cakes and raise money to help even more people recover after experiencing abuse”.
