Residents and staff of Barchester’s Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter have set themselves a challenge! Visiting 50 different pubs in and around Exeter.

Every Tuesday evening, residents and staff choose a different pub to take a trip to where they sample and enjoy their drinks with sides of nibbles! The outings have become so popular that they are now joined by family members each week, too.

Jogie, General Manager at Cumberland Grange Care Home, said: “Our pub trips have become such a wonderfully wholesome outing and a favourite of mine! I join our residents, family members and our team every Tuesday and we always have such a great time together. We have now visited 9 different pubs, so have another 41 to go!”

Cumberland Grange has a huge life enrichment programme which includes many different activities, loved and enjoyed by our residents. Outings in the mini bus happen multiple times each week so that our residents can continue to visit places that they love.
