Christmas bin collection information
From 3:30 pm on Monday 24th December 2012 to Tuesday 1st January 2013 Cleansing Service offices will be closed.
However, waste collections continue during the holiday period.
To support residents who need help or information about waste collections during this period Exeter City Council will be operating a limited telephone service.
Please visit the council website to find out when your bin is collected during Christmas and New Year holidays, and January 2013 or to report a bin missed by the Council.

Tuesday, 25th December 2012 - CLOSED Wednesday, 26th December 2012 - CLOSED
Thursday, 27th December 2012 - open between 10:00am and 3:45pm Friday, 28th December 2012 - open between 10:00am and 3:45pm
Monday, 31st December 2012 - open between 10:00am and 3:45pm
Tuesday, 1st January 2013 - CLOSED
Wednesday, 2nd January 2013 - normal opening hours resume
Meanwhile, Various materials can be recycled in your containers for collection from home.
Please do not put recycling items in bags in your container. It makes it easier, quicker and safer for workers to sort the recycling materials if they are kept loose in your recycling container.
What can be recycled in your container from home?
You can recycle the following things in your container from home: Newspapers and magazines Cardboard Rinsed drinks cans and food tins ALL empty, clean plastic bottles and other empty, clean plastic food containers and wraps Junk mail and envelopes - remove plastic wrapper from junk mail - put separately into your container Clean, empty carrier bags Catalogues Phone directories Clean aluminium foil Empty aerosols Glass Glass cannot be recycled from home.
There are several recycling banks in Exeter where you can take your glass bottles and jars.
