Citizens tackling global issues in their communities
How can local communities take positive action in the face of big issues on climate change? Find out how local active citizens are tackling global issues in their communities.
This year's Exeter CVS Social Action project concludes with a free showcase event highlighting the work of our Active Citizens, alongside local community displays from other social action groups and enterprises.
This event features guest speakers from key local institutions on what is being done in Exeter to lessen the impact of climate change, with a global perspective from the British Council, and our panel of experts will be on hand to tackle any challenging questions during the Question Time slot in the afternoon.
There will also be interactive taster sessions on waste management, food production and water conservation, as well as a unique drama performance about social isolation from this year's Active Citizenship in Theatre group.
The event will be held at Exeter Corn Exchange, 23rd Jan 2013 from 10am until 4pm and promises to be both lively and informative, with plenty of opportunities to network, ask questions, find some answers and will provide inspiration for anyone who wants to get involved and make a difference.
