Commuters were once again facing difficult journeys into work this morning after the sixth day of disruption.

Hundreds of homes were flooded over the weekend after torrential rain and wind battered the region.

Devon County Council this morning said staff had been working around the clock 'scouting' for problems.

Today there is a lot of surface water on the roads but most major routes, including the A377 between Exeter and Crediton, are passable with care.

However, the rail line between Exeter and Tiverton Parkway is closed.

This morning there were 63 flood warnings across the south west and Devon was on a yellow alert for rain.

Meanwhile, a report was being prepared by police for the coroner after a 21-year-old woman died when a tree fell on the tent she was sheltering in on Western Way in Exeter.

Motorists were also today warned that frost is forecast on Tuesday night meaning any remaining water could turn to ice.
