Council Chairman holds Civic Christmas Carol Service

Around 80 guests attended, including a Deputy Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff of Devon and Neil Parish MP

East Devon District Council chairman, Cllr Andrew Moulding, held a Civic Carol Service , at the Parish Church of St Michael in Musbury.  The Officiant was The Reverend Hilary Dawson.

Five readings were made as part of the service and were read by district council Vice Chairman , Cllr David Key; Sue Irving, Church Warden; Tim Nield, Head of Teaching and Learning at Musbury Primary School; Mark Williams, East Devon CEO and the Chairman, Cllr Andrew Moulding.

A collection was taken on behalf of The Chairman’s chosen charity which was the Parish Church of St Michael, Musbury.

The service,  was followed by afternoon tea at Musbury Village Hall for around 80 guests, which included Lt Colonel Tony Drake in the role of Deputy Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff of Devon and Neil Parish MP. Chairs and mayors from other councils across Devon also attended.

Cllr Andrew Moulding said: “I was delighted to see so many invited guests and local parishioners attend my Civic Carol Service conducted by Rev Hilary Dawson. I would like to say a special thank you to the Church Wardens for making the church look so delightful and to also thank all of those involved in helping make the event go so well.”
